Meet the Team |
LearnShift volunteers are K-12 classroom teachers, leaders and academic specialists based in the northern bay area of San Francisco. We came to know each other through our Master's degree studies with Dr. Pamela Redmond who created the Innovative Learning program at Touro University California. In this moment when millions of teachers/students are working from home, we realized that collectively we have expertise that spans all K12 grades. We have worked to hone our practices to include effective methods for bringing new tools into the classroom that allow our innovative lesson designs to better meet the learning needs of students. All of us experienced the change in thinking that comes from researching new ideas about learning, playing with digital tools and rethinking our teaching practices as we utilized action research to measure effectiveness of our innovations.
Collectively, we have over 100 years of experience teaching and innovating in our practice across K12 education. Many of us are also University faculty. We all have online learning and hands-on experience using digital media, technology and student-centered teaching methods to personalize learning and increase engagement. Many of us are Google certified. All have been using Zoom and/or Google Meet/Hangouts for years. We created this service to help teachers re-imagine their lessons to meet a variety of learner needs. By leveraging digital media and tools to allow for choices (i.e. multiple entry and exit points) in learning and assessing student mastery we can better support and engage students. Our digital innovator-teacher-volunteers can help design problem/project/inquiry based learning tasks and along with creative ways to reach even the most challenging students. We look forward to working with you! Pamela Redmond, Ed.D. CEO- Chief Evangelist and Organizer |
We are 12 volunteers strong and growing. We've been so busy we haven't gotten to writing our bios yet. Roll over our faces to see our specialties.
